Wait, Wait, and um… Wait

The idea of adoption is something we have been discussing for almost 6 years.  SIX YEARS we’ve been thinking about adding another member to our family.

We’ve kept quiet about it for the first few years, and finally I decided to discuss the idea with my blog readers.  By telling people, we made it real.   What made it even more real was announcing our plans to our children, and then my parents. We’ve gotten so much love and support from them, it’s been amazing.

Our first meeting with the caseworkers was to take place on June 14th.

We didn’t go, and I’m just kicking myself for causing more wait time.

What once started out as a completely free night on our calendar, turned into a chaotic mess of a visit to the vet, soccer practice and softball games getting rescheduled.

All in the same evening.  Go figure…

I called a few days later to get our meeting rescheduled, but they are only offered two times per month. The next opening they had in a informational class is August 9th. I know this summer is moving quickly, but August 9th seems like a long time away.

It’s a good thing we’re used to waiting.
