Now that I am done shopping, how about some ME time?

I really love Christmas time. I love buying gifts for people. I love shopping and picking out something that I just know my friends and family will love. Needless to say, it is the one time of year I manage to avoid buying one single thing for myself. My husband asks me for gift ideas, and I have a hard time coming up with ideas, BECAUSE I AM A SHOPPER. If I see something I want and its within reason, I just buy it. The problem with that is, when the holidays roll around, I am that person that is so freakin’ hard to buy for because I already have everything!

The things that I do end up coming up with for gift ideas are either outrageously expensive or just plain frivolous. But what the heck.

I present to you my Wish List. The list of things I really want for Christmas but know that I probably won’t be getting. The list of things that are so unneccessary and– in this economy– make me feel shallow for even wanting:

1. iPod Touch - Two of my four kids have asked for these for Christmas. SO–a couple weeks ago at Costco, I spent a small fortune on two of these bad boys. I opened one up and played with it a bit, and I AM IN LOVE. I was not aware of all the things it can do. Internet? Games? Piles of music and movies? I heart the iPod touch, and I want one.

2. iPod Dock Alarm Clock – Whether I get a new iPod or not, I still want this alarm clock. I like to play music when I am  cleaning, and sometimes I just want to listen to music at night when I am reading in bed. Sure my old iPod will work in it, but wouldn’t the iPod Touch look TEH AWESOME in it?

3. Portable Hard Drive – This is probably the most practical of all the items on my list. We currently have three computers in our house– one desktop and two laptops. I would love to be able to get a lot of the STUFF off of them (Turbo Tax, Quicken, pictures, iTunes, etc) and put them somewhere. Enter Miss Hard Drive here. Of course, any color will do — but a nice shiny red one would suit me perfectly.

4. Coach Wallet – A couple years ago, my husband splurged and bought me my very first Coach purse. A real one. It was costly and completely a waste of money, BUT I LOVED IT. I since discovered the Coach outlet store about 2 hours away, and I bought another one– with a matching wallet. Now the first purse I bought is lonely. She needs a matching wallet, too.

5. Digital Picture Frame – I have never wanted one of these before, until I started seeing them pop up in every single Black Friday ad recently. Everyone else has them, and so maybe I could find a use for one. I have enough pictures, so that wouldn’t be a problem!

6. Biggest Loser Wii Game – Probably the only item on my list I NEED. Seriously, do I need to mention how many pieces of PIE I ate over Thanksgiving weekend? And how amazed I am at the contestants on the show being able to run a freaking MARATHON after a few short months? I need this game to help me get skinny again. Question is, is it really that much of a workout?

7. iTunes gift card – Needed especially if I get items #1 and/or #2 above. We don’t buy CDs anymore, because I have yet to own a CD in which every single song on it has been GOOD. Now we choose to go through iTunes for our music. We buy the songs we want, and thats it.

How about you? If you could be frivolous and ask for anything for Christmas, what would it be? Let’s be shallow together!
