A couple weeks ago, I was watching a Dr. Oz episode during one of my workouts. The episode was talking about “Brand New Fat Melters” and the first one he talked about was CLA, or Conjugated Linoleic Acid. By taking 1 gram of CLA three times a day (one with each meal), it it supposed to help “reduce body fat and increase muscle tone.” While they don’t recommend NOT exercising, the Dr. on the show stated that this would work with no change in your diet or exercise. Obviously, I wouldn’t want to stop my activity and I don’t want to eat junk again. But would this stuff actually work?
I did some research on CLA, and found that the best kind to take is one that is naturally made from safflower oil. Giving in to being a follower, I decided to commit to trying this for 60 days. I ordered 180 pills manufactured by nature’s Way, because they were one of the few I found online that actually were derived from safflower oil. I was a little scared to styart taking them, because you just never know how any pill you take will affect your body. But I’m trusting that Dr. Oz is knowledgable and this isn’t just some gimmick.
I opened the package and took out the two 90-count bottles. I removed one of the lids, and opened the safety seal, and GOOD LORD– the pills are HUGE!I mean, does anyone else think this looks like I’ll be swallowing a black bullet?
I’ll be anxious to see my results when I weigh-in and have my body fat measured on March 15th. My starting body fat percentage was 35.9% on January 4th, and obviously I’ve been exercising like crazy since then. So some of the fat loss will be from plain old exercise. Maybe it will help and maybe it won’t, but it sure can’t hurt.
Have any of you taken any dietary supplements to help boost your weight loss or metabolism?
